Ulster American Folk Park trip

The Primary 7s visited the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh, receiving a hands on, true to life experience of what life was like for the people of Ireland during the Great Famine of 1845. The children have just finished reading Marita Conlon-McKenna’s ‘Under the Hawthorn Tree’, which they thoroughly enjoyed and their trip brought the book to life for them.

It was a wonderful day. We learned a great deal and had good fun exploring the park together as a class. The weather held out too which made it even better.
