Year 6 are studying the topic of 'Journeys' in World Around Us. As part of their topic they have been researching and learning about the features of a river in its Upper, Middle and Lower course.

The children walked along the river in Riverside Park and observed its features. The children were able to see an example of erosion, deposition, meanders, a confluence, a tributary, a stream and a floodplain. The children even caught sight of heron fishing in the river.

A very enjoyable morning.
