6th October 2017

The Year 6 boys and girls are working in conjunction with the Year 6 children from the Model Primary School on ‘The Townscape Heritage Initiative’. On Tuesday 3rd October, Year 6 met up with the Year 6 children from the Model in the Town Hall to begin the project.

The initiative will require the children to chose a specific building, landmark, place or well known person from the town that makes Ballymoney such an interesting place rich in heritage.

The children will work collaboratively using textiles to depict their chosen aspect of Ballymoney and produce a wall hanging for each of our schools. In preparation for their work, the boys and girls will be taking a very close look at how the buildings, shops and landmarks  have changed down through the years. They will engage in research to find out about some of the renowned people who came from Ballymoney and some of the history of the town. They will use a variety of medium to make sketches and draw before transferring their work to fabric.

Year 6 and the children from the Model P.S cannot wait to see the end product!
