Year 5 Meet the Author!

Primary 5 have spent the last two weeks learning all about Irish Myths and Legends. Having recently discovered the tales behind Ballycastle’s Vanishing Lake, the pupils in P5 had the opportunity to meet Paddy Donnelly, the author of children’s book ‘The Vanishing Lake.’
The children were able to ask questions they had compiled after learning about and reading his story. The pupils found this experience so worthwhile and gained a real insight into a local author’s life and achievements. The children asked sensible and intelligent questions and were really attentive throughout our online video call with Paddy.
Primary 5 felt inspired and fortunate to have had this opportunity and who knows, we may have some successful illustrators or authors in the future!
