What a fantastic afternoon we spent with the children of Ballymoney Nursery School!

We wanted to build upon our previous visit to the Nursery, where our focus was ‘Reading and the Enjoyment of Books’. This visit’s focus was ‘Play’. Learning through play is an integral part of a young child’s social and cognitive development. The children chatted and played with the younger children, encouraging conversation, role play and learning through the environment of structured play.

The weather was lovely so it made the visit even better being able to take our learning outside, making good use of the wonderful equipment, resources and facilities in the Nursery School’s outdoor learning area.

It was an excellent opportunity for our children to lead by example and play with our young friends in the Nursery.

Thank you to Mrs Martin, Principal of Ballymoney Nursery, and Mrs McKay, our P1 teacher, for arranging the visit.
